In the same poem by Sophia de Mello Breyner where we read “For you I shall create a pure day | Free as the wind and repeated | Like the blossoming of the ordered waves” we find the title for the exhibition of the seventh edition of the artistic residency – Deslocações [Dislocations]. A poem that tells us about the imperfection and fragility of the place where we love; about the fear of loving when everything breaks and becomes silent. In the prelude to a new era where the energy crisis is compounded by geopolitical tensions, the erosion of democracies, climate injustice and setbacks in individual rights and freedoms… everything seems volatile, impermanent. And despite this, we still try to love, we still dream of inventing a different place.

In this exhibition, the artistic gestures of each student join those of the special guest – sculptor Carlos Barreira, to express this ineffable freedom: trying to blossom in the repetition of the ordered waves.
