The Santo Tirso Museum of Contemporary Sculpture has a cultural commitment to the community in which it operates.
In fulfilling its mission, with the aim of creating a closer relationship with the population, it offers various programs and activities allowing active participation, strengthening relationships in the search for effective and mutually enriching integration.
MIECST has a large extramural component, characterizing itself as an open-air museum that seeks to change the way art is experienced, because it is not an end in itself, but rather a means that contributes to the formation of a more active citizenry.
In order to make it easier for the community to come together, services were made available with the aim of creating enriching recreational and educational experiences – transport service; guided tours of the permanent and temporary exhibitions; educational services for the school community; audio guides and maps.
